The jewels stolen from the Louvre will be returned to the museum. This was stated on November 8 by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the Mexican television channel Televisa.

"We have begun to apprehend part of the gang that committed this theft. The jewels will be found and returned, they (the criminals — Ed.) will be arrested, they will be tried," he said.

According to Macron, the authorities have launched a large-scale plan to revive and modernize the Louvre, and the museum's management has reviewed the security system, drawing conclusions from the incident.

"The Louvre's security service has completely rethought what happened. Because what happened was a shock to everyone, and [the guards] saw this as an opportunity to become even stronger," the French leader added.

On October 19, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati announced the robbery of the Louvre. According to her, the robbery took only a few minutes and was carried out by professionals. At the same time, Le Parisien learned about the discovery of the broken crown of Emperor Napoleon III's wife Eugenie, who, among other jewelry, was exhibited at the Apollo Gallery.

On October 30, five new suspects in the Louvre robbery were arrested. Paris Prosecutor Laura Becco announced a day earlier that two detainees in the Louvre robbery case had partially admitted their guilt. At the same time, on October 27, French legislator Alexandre Portier said that the jewels stolen from the Louvre could already be disassembled and changed their appearance.
