On the eve of the season of large-scale sales, including Black Friday, the activity of intruders using social engineering to gain access to users' personal data is increasing. As Mikhail Lobov, an expert on information security at Ozon, told Izvestia on November 9, a key feature of fraudulent schemes is requesting codes from SMS, passwords, or bank details over the phone.

"Marketplace employees, couriers, and warehouse workers never request such information, so such calls should be stopped immediately. Phishing attacks are particularly dangerous during this period, when hackers create exact copies of sites of well—known services in order to steal user data," the expert warned.

The main signs of fake resources are typos in the website address, non-standard domains and suspiciously low prices. Links to such platforms are often distributed through messengers and social networks, while marketplaces do not conduct "closed sales" and do not send payment links via private messages.

To ensure safe shopping, experts recommend making purchases exclusively through official applications installed from trusted sources, and always check the website address and the date of its creation before entering banking data. If suspicious charges are detected, you must immediately contact the bank to block the card, and in case of account compromise, terminate all active sessions and contact customer support through official channels.

On October 28, the Department for combating the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation reported that fraudsters began actively deceiving people through fake online stores of major brands, using the theme of sales, including during the Black Friday period.
