An eyewitness shared details of a helicopter crash in Dagestan

The Ka-226 helicopter lost control in Dagestan after it hit the pier with its rear wing and began to spin in the air, after which it crashed and caught fire. Asadullah Aliyev, an eyewitness to the incident, told Izvestia about this on November 7.

"The helicopter was flying over the coast, wanted to land on the pier and hooked it with its rear wing, after that it took off into the air and began circling. When he fell, I heard a pop and an explosion from afar," the man said.

Aliev was about five km from the scene of the tragedy and was one of the first to come to the rescue. He added that the helicopter probably belonged to the owners of one of the local recreation centers.

The helicopter crash happened on the same day. It was clarified that the KA-226 aircraft of Concern KEMZ JSC crashed at 15:10 Moscow time near the village of Achi-Su. Later it became known that the helicopter crashed into a private uninhabited house in the village of Achi-Su. According to the Izvestia source, there were seven people on board the aircraft, three of whom died inside, and one was able to get out and died outside. In addition, the hospitalized are in serious condition.

The operational services involved in the investigation admitted that the cause of the crash could be a technical malfunction. It is the main version of the investigation. A criminal case has been opened into the incident. The Federal Air Transport Agency classified the helicopter crash as a disaster.
