In Simferopol, vandals stole figurines of mascot bees
In Simferopol, unknown persons stole metal figurines of bees, which were installed on the territory of Catherine Square. This was told by the guide Ivan Kovalenko in his Telegram.
According to the local historian, vandals stole a chess bee and a river nymph bee. Most likely, the figurines were knocked down with a sledgehammer, he suggested.
Social media suggests that the art objects were stolen for scrap.
As noted by IA SevastopolMedia, the bee is a symbol of the capital of Crimea, its image is placed on the flag and coat of arms of the city.
The first bees settled on the streets of Simferopol in 2018. They were made and placed by activists of one of the enterprises. Currently, about fifty bees have been installed in the city.
