The State Duma announced plans to increase pension points for children
The State Duma is considering the possibility of increasing pension points for mothers for each subsequent child. This was announced on November 21 in a conversation with Izvestia by Tatyana Butskaya, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Family Protection, Fatherhood, Motherhood and Childhood.
She pointed out that currently, for every child with whom the parents are, there are minimum retirement points. And this, Butskaya noted, has a lesser effect on the size of the pension.
— Now we are considering that the number of pension points will be increased for each subsequent child, — she said.
At the same time, commenting on the initiative of the annual "demographic week" to strengthen personal relationships, the deputy expressed the opinion that such an initiative is unlikely to appeal to employers. She stressed that fertility peaks traditionally occur during long holidays when families spend time together. As a more effective measure, the parliamentarian called the development of a reproductive medical examination system, especially among men.
— Men do not go well to any medical examinations, much worse than women. At the same time, 50% of infertility in our country is a male factor, so we are now focusing more on supporting men's reproductive health," she explained.
Butskaya added that government support should be combined with the personal responsibility of citizens for timely medical examinations.
