- Law enforcement officers stopped the turnover of tobacco products for more than 560 million rubles
The Federal Security Service (FSB), together with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, stopped the illicit trafficking of tobacco products worth more than 560 million rubles in the Kaluga, Voronezh and Tver regions. This was announced on November 6 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.
"As a result of the operational search measures carried out in the Kaluga region, the illegal activities of the owners and management of the enterprise, who organized the industrial production of cigarettes without paying excise tax to the state budget, were suppressed," the report says.
FSB officers also stopped illegal activities related to the illegal production of tobacco products on a particularly large scale in the Voronezh and Tver regions, the DSP noted.
The department indicated that criminal cases had been opened on this fact, and charges had been brought against all the detainees.
Earlier, on October 28, the press service of the Federal Customs Service of Russia reported that employees of the North-Western Operational Customs had defused a drug laboratory in the Leningrad region. As a result of further operational actions, two men who had previously served sentences for drug distribution were detained.
