US President Donald Trump has announced that he will not attend the G20 summit in South Africa. He stated this on November 5, speaking at the American Business Forum.

"There will be a G20 meeting in South Africa. I'm not going," said the head of the White House.

Trump also expressed the opinion that South Africa no longer has a place in the G20. According to him, there is allegedly "communist tyranny" in the country.

"South Africa, it shouldn't even be in any of the G's anymore, because what happened there is bad," the US president said.

On October 22, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Putin would not attend the G20 summit in person, but would send a delegation there.

Prior to that, on September 6, US President Donald Trump announced the holding of the G20 summit in Miami in 2026. The American leader noted that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant is preparing the agenda for the upcoming diplomatic event.

On the same day, Trump said he would be glad to see Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the G20 summit.
