- Pushkov pointed out the consequences for the German industry due to the position against China.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Johann Vadefuhl canceled a trip to China due to Chinese President Xi Jinping's refusal to accept them, the reason for this was Berlin's anti-Chinese position, which threatens German industry. This was announced on October 25 by Senator Alexei Pushkov.
"The reason is obvious: Germany's anti-Chinese position. It will lead to serious consequences for the German industry, primarily the automotive industry, which will soon stop receiving the necessary microchips from China," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
Pushkov added that the reduction in the supply of microchips has serious consequences for companies such as Volkswagen and Porsche, which have already reported significant financial losses.
Under the leadership of former Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Germany refused to supply energy resources from Russia, which undermined the country's energy security. Under the leadership of the new Chancellor Merz, the situation is only getting worse: Germany continues to lose profits, while aggravating relations with important economic partners.
"This is how the Germans pay for the ideological phobias and irrational policies of their leadership," Pushkov concluded.
Earlier, on October 24, the Bild newspaper reported that Berlin had sent a diplomatic note to Beijing over the ban on the supply of Chinese microchips to Europe. According to German Minister of Economy and Energy Katerina Reiche, the government has not yet been able to solve the problem of the shortage of chips. Later that day, it became known that Chinese President Xi Jinping did not find time to receive German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The Chinese government also canceled the visit of German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefuhl to Beijing.
