Nikita Mikhalkov spoke about the importance of military service

Director Nikita Mikhalkov called on every Russian to serve in the army, calling it a "colossal school." He made the corresponding statement on October 23 at the VGIK International Student Festival.

"I believe that any man who lives in our country should go through the army. This is a colossal school. You see, for Russia, the army was not a means of attack or defense, it was a way of life," TASS quoted him as saying.
