The United States is imposing sanctions against Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. This was announced on October 22 on the website of the US Treasury Department.

"Today's measures are directed against two of the largest Russian oil companies, Open Joint Stock Company Rosneft Oil Company (NK Rosneft) and OAO Lukoil (Lukoil)," the publication says.

It is specified that these companies are included in the sanctions list for activities in the Russian energy sector. In addition, restrictive measures are being introduced against subsidiaries of Rosneft and Lukoil.
