Moscow has sent a diplomatic note to Washington, in which it confirmed its intention to maintain the previously set conditions for resolving the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported on October 21 by the Reuters news agency, citing sources.

The article emphasized that the requirements of the Russian Federation listed in the communique (a statement or message that is published following meetings and negotiations in international relations), as before, included the establishment of control over the territory of Donbass, as well as the non-deployment of NATO troops on the territory of Ukraine.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a briefing on the same day that an immediate end to the conflict in Ukraine was almost impossible. According to him, this will not lead to a solution to the problem, as it will not eliminate the actual genocide of the Russian and Russian-speaking population, which was carried out by Kiev even before Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky came to power.
