Large-scale mechanized harvesting of outdoor vegetables has started in Crimea. To date, more than 70 tons have already been harvested from an area of 6.19 hectares, the press service of the republican Ministry of Agriculture reported on social networks on Monday, October 20.

We are talking about cleaning the so-called "borscht set". These are onions (over 19 thousand tons), carrots (over 9 thousand tons), cabbage (5 thousand tons) and beets (3 thousand tons). Farmers also harvested more than 17 thousand tons of melons.

Potato harvesting demonstrates some success, writes IA SevastopolMedia. The gross harvest has already amounted to 18 thousand tons from more than 3 thousand hectares. This is 4% more than on the same date a year earlier.

As explained in the department, the transition from manual labor to machine harvesting is critically important for Crimean agricultural producers. This makes it possible to significantly increase the volume and speed of harvesting, reduce the cost of production and minimize crop losses.

Earlier in October, Izvestia wrote that Russia had summed up the preliminary results of a harvesting company. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the harvest figures will exceed the result of 2024. High-tech technologies have helped farmers to increase their efficiency.
