Japanese figure skater Ami Nakai became the winner of the French Grand Prix of Figure Skating. This became known on October 18.

It is noted that the athlete scored 227.08 points in the sum of the short and free programs. Such a high score was achieved thanks to the triple axel jump, which is mastered by few figure skaters, as well as the purity of the rental.

The second place was also taken by the athlete from Japan Kaori Sakamoto (224.23), the third place — Rion Sumiyoshi (216.06), according to the "Sport-Express".

Earlier, on September 21. Russian figure skater Humennik won the qualifying tournament in Beijing, thereby securing his place in the 2026 Olympic Games. In the free skate, the skater scored 169.02 points and won the tournament with a total score of 262.82 points based on the results of the two programs.

Mikhail Degtyarev, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), called Humennik's performance an example of the highest skill. He added that Russian figure skater Adelia Petrosyan had been selected before Humennik, and stressed that now the Russian Federation has two leaders who will defend the honor of the national figure skating school at the 2026 Olympic Games in Milan.
