In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Sterlitamak hospital has been put on a special operating mode after an explosion at a factory. This was announced on October 17 by the Prime Minister of the Republic, Andrei Nazarov.
"The Sterlitamak hospital has been switched to a special mode of operation," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
It is noted that the victims of the accident at the plant are in this hospital. They receive the necessary medical care.
The explosion at the plant became known earlier that day. The city administration clarified that all services and departments are currently working on site. The Minister of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Airat Rakhmatullin, soon announced that one of the victims was in serious condition. Five ambulance crews were on duty at the scene of the emergency.
Later, the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, announced that the number of victims of the explosion had increased to eight. He noted that everyone received the necessary medical care. Khabirov pointed out that rescuers continue to search at the scene of the emergency.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region has opened a criminal case into the incident at the plant.
