The State Duma announced the possibility of making real estate transactions using biometrics

Starting from July 1, 2026, Russians will have the opportunity to use biometric data to conclude remote real estate transactions. This was announced on October 17 by Alexander Aksenenko, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

"Starting from July 1, 2026, a new legal norm will start functioning in Russia, allowing the use of biometric data when making remote real estate transactions. In simple words, this means that citizens will be able to verify their identity using biometric data — fingerprints, face, iris, or other biometric feature — without having to physically attend a purchase and sale transaction, mortgage, or lease," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
