In Moscow, a fraudster stole more than 10 million rubles from a crypto broker, paying with souvenir bills during the transaction. This was announced on October 16 by the Russian Interior Ministry in the Telegram channel.
It is specified that the victim was engaged in the exchange of cryptocurrencies for cash. To conclude the deal, the men met in one of the city's cafes, where the criminal showed the broker a sports bag that allegedly contained money. After completing the transaction, the buyer left the cash and left.
Subsequently, the victim discovered that all the bills were souvenirs. The damage caused by the fraudster's actions amounted to more than 10.6 million rubles.
During the search activities, the suspect was detained in Pavlovsky Posad. He acted on the instructions of his supervisor, who promised him 10% of the stolen money.
The person involved is currently in custody. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by an organized group or on an especially large scale").
