In the first nine months of this year, 838.4 thousand fines totaling 1.82 billion rubles were imposed in the Russian Federation for unpaid travel on federal toll roads. The number of fines decreased by 2.7% compared to the same period last year, while the number of resolutions cancelled in connection with the payment of debt within 20 days increased by 9% (to 329.9 thousand units). This was reported on October 14 by Kommersant with reference to Rostransnadzor data.

Drivers have become more likely to use the option that allows them to pay the fare debt and cancel the penalty order, the newspaper notes. So, with the help of this mechanism, drivers were able to save a total of more than 600 million rubles this year. According to the experts interviewed, the number of fines has decreased as motorists have become better informed about toll roads.

In addition, as follows from the data of Rostransnadzor, the number of decisions aimed at enforcement to the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) has almost quadrupled — from 205.6 thousand to 56.3 thousand decisions.

Fines are applied on highways without barriers, where car numbers are read by cameras. The regulations are cancelled if the car owner has repaid the debt within 20 days.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that a new toll highway 18.6 km long will appear in Moscow, which will connect Novorizhskoye Highway and Odintsovo Northern Bypass. It is planned to be built in four years.

On October 13, it became known that the cost of a trip on the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) was indexed: on each of the nine sections of this road, it increased by 3 rubles and now stands at 10 rubles.
