Dorofeev scored the first hat trick among Russians in the new NHL season.
Vegas Golden Knights forward Pavel Dorofeev scored the first hat trick in the new season of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season. The game took place on October 9 and ended with a score of 5:6 in favor of the Los Angeles Kings.
The 24-year-old hockey player hit the opponent's goal three times. Dorofeev scored his goals in the second period, which allowed Vegas to equalize the score by the beginning of the final third of the meeting — 3:3.
"The Russian forward scored a hat-trick and turned around an unsuccessful game with the Kings,— Sport-Express notes.
Dorofeev is a graduate of Metallurg. The hockey player has gained a foothold at the base of Vegas in the 2023/24 season. It is noteworthy that the Russian, who became the team's best sniper last season with 35 goals, missed most of the pre-season training due to injury.
Earlier, on October 6, the Russian forward of the Montreal Canadiens, Ivan Demidov, was named the main contender for the Calder Trophy— the prize for the best NHL rookie at the end of the season. It was clarified that the decision was made after a vote among 15 experts, in which 14 voted for the hockey player as the favorite.
