Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has announced that the country is not going to switch to the euro, as the European Union (EU) is in a phase of disintegration. He said this in an interview with the newspaper EconomX on October 6.

When asked about the introduction of the euro, Orban noted that "it certainly won't be on my agenda." He explained this by saying that the European Union is in trouble, in the phase of disintegration, "it's just shaking." In his opinion, if there are no radical changes, then this process will continue, and the European Union will remain only the head of the past," the article says.

According to the Prime Minister, since the inauguration of US President Donald Trump, Hungary has already received 150 billion forints of American investments.

On September 2, Advisor to Prime Minister Balazs Orban said on the Harcosok Órája podcast that it was difficult for Brussels to explain to European citizens why budget funds were being allocated to other countries, despite the deteriorating economic situation in Europe. He noted that Hungary cannot explain to its citizens the priority of budget allocation, although it is clear that the EU's internal economy is in decline.
