A local resident was detained in Podolsk after a brutal beating of a disabled dog, which was moving on a special device due to paralyzed paws. As the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk reported on October 6, investigators have opened a criminal case.

As follows from the video surveillance footage, a man of large build came out of the entrance of the house on Yubileynaya Street. A dog was moving along the sidewalk, and after a resident spoke to it, it started barking at him. After some time, the man deprived the dog of its means of transportation, and then brutally beat and threw the animal on the grass, inflicting several blows.

"The offender was identified by police officers and taken to the territorial department for further investigation," Volk said in her Telegram channel.

A criminal case is being investigated under Part 1 of Article 245 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Cruelty to animals"). It provides for a maximum penalty of up to three years in prison.

The day before, the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the Moscow region opened a criminal case on the fact of cruelty to pets at a shelter in Chekhov, Moscow region. According to law enforcement officials, the woman beat the dogs and put electric shock collars on them. The pets were also kept in improper conditions, as a result of which they received abrasions.
