Almost 250,000 buildings in the UK and Ireland were left without electricity due to the passage of Storm Amy through the British Isles. This was reported on October 4 by Sky News channel.
"About 184,000 homes, farms and businesses across Ireland were left without electricity. <...> In Northern Ireland, according to NIE Networks, 50,000 facilities were de—energized," the material says.
According to the publication, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) is working to restore power supply.
Earlier, on September 22, in Brazil, a serious storm hit the Toyota plant in the state of Sao Paulo, as a result of which the company was severely damaged.
