On October 13, 2025, a photo exhibition "Moscow in the Life of Sergei Yesenin" will open on Tverskaya Boulevard, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of his birth and the 100th anniversary of the poet's memory.

The task of holding events dedicated to the celebration of the poet's anniversary this year was included in the list of instructions from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin following the meeting of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on the implementation of state policy in the field of support for the Russian language and the languages of the peoples of the Russian Federation, held on November 5, 2024.

The exhibition "Moscow in the life of Sergei Yesenin" presents to the viewer and reader urban stories, the main character of which is Sergei Alexandrovich himself. Funny, touching, and sometimes sad stories taken from the memoirs of Yesenin's contemporaries create a vivid and intimate image of the poet-citizen.

Moscow became the main city in the life of Sergei Yesenin. Here the poet finally decided on the choice of his life path, found an interesting job, got new opportunities for self-education, published his poems for the first time, gained a wide circle of friends and great fame.,
which I've always dreamed of. Women close to him lived here, and his children grew up.

Moscow accepted the poet at the very beginning of his creative development and sent him on his last journey, already famous and beloved by all. In 1995, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Sergei Yesenin's birth, his "light figure" was immortalized in a monument by sculptor Anatoly Bichukov. Now the poet, whose "steppe singing managed to ring with bronze," can always be found on Tverskoy Boulevard.

The organizers of the exhibition are the Moscow Department of Culture, the Moscow Directorate of Mass Events in cooperation with the Moscow State Yesenin Museum, the Russian Book Union and the Russian Historical Society.

On the occasion of the opening of the exhibition, on October 13, at 18:00, an hour-and-a-half walking tour "Moscow Naughty Reveler" will begin at the monument to S.A. Yesenin on Tverskaya Boulevard.
