The head of the GRAU Scientific and Technical Committee was detained in a bribery case

Colonel Andrey Zhezhuk, Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Committee of the Main Rocket and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GRAU MO) of Russia, and his deputy Colonel Sergey Zakharov have become defendants in a case of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was reported on September 30 on the website of the Moscow Garrison Military Court.

"The charges were filed under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation — receiving a particularly large bribe," the sources said.

The GRAU Scientific and Technical Committee is engaged in planning research and analysis of rocket and artillery weapons, as well as the development of precision weapons.

Businessmen who transferred money to them were sentenced to up to 8.5 years in prison.

Earlier, on October 2, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sent Mikhail Reliability, head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, to jail on charges of accepting a particularly large bribe.
