Pashinyan declared Armenia's independence from the CSTO
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a government hour in parliament that the country does not depend on the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), since the obligations that the organization faces are not being fulfilled. This was announced on October 1 by the Novosti-Armenia portal.
"When in 2022 we realized that the CSTO had not fulfilled, was not fulfilling and would not fulfill its obligations towards us, at that moment we became independent. <...> The security system that you supposedly built was <...>...> a tool to prevent the formation of our state," Pashinyan said.
According to the Armenian Prime Minister, the security guarantees provided by the CSTO in the Nagorno-Karabakh issue were used by some countries as a way to prevent the development of the country.
