There were 284 road accidents in Russia on the last day of September.

On the last day of September, 284 road accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 27 people were killed and 370 injured. 25 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on October 1 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

So, in the Belgorod region, on 215 km of the M-2 "Crimea" highway Moscow — Tula — Orel — Kursk — Belgorod — border with Ukraine, the Belgorod— M-4 "Don" connecting road, a 25-year-old SUV driver, in violation of traffic regulations, began overtaking a truck moving in front of him, which gave a left turn signal, and I ran into him. A passenger of a passenger car was killed in the accident, and the culprit of the collision and three other passengers were hospitalized with injuries.

22 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, however, 33 road users, including six children, required medical assistance. Nine bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers.

As a result of 74 accidents, 37 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and the same number outside their area of operation, two pedestrians were killed, 76 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 22 young pedestrians, while 13 of them were injured while crossing the roadway in designated areas.

There were also 48 accidents involving minors, in which 52 young road users were injured, including 23 passengers, two cyclists and four motor vehicle drivers. Two children were killed, one of whom was a cyclist, the other a pedestrian. Both car accidents, which resulted in the deaths of children, occurred involving trucks in populated areas during daytime maneuvering of vehicles.

So, in Kolomna, Moscow region, a 57-year-old truck driver ran over a 10-year-old schoolboy, who was unaccompanied by an adult, riding a bicycle in his direction to soccer practice, in violation of traffic regulations, moving along the right edge of the roadway. The third grader died.

In Kaliningrad, a 49-year-old truck driver at an unregulated intersection, when turning right, ran over a 10-year-old boy walking to school unaccompanied by adults, who was crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The driver did not notice the child when turning, he died.

The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more careful on the roads of settlements and cities. Special care should be taken when making maneuvers or passing intersections, including unregulated ones, courtyard and house territories, as well as road sections adjacent to preschool and school educational organizations.

Parents of underage road users were reminded of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them. It is necessary to conduct an explanatory conversation with children about the rules of safe travel on personal mobility equipment, bicycles and scooters, paying special attention to the inadmissibility of minors under the age of 14 traveling on public roads, as well as the need to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing.

"The lack or negligence of parental control over the behavior and leisure of preschool and primary school-age children often leads to injuries or deaths of young road users. According to operational data from the State Traffic Inspectorate, 1,748 road accidents involving minors under the age of 16 occurred in the Russian Federation in September 2025, in which 39 children were killed and 1,950 injured," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

On September 30, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the number of accidents and deaths in road accidents on Russian roads had decreased by 9%.
