The Estonian authorities have started putting up evacuation warnings on Russian cars parked at the Koidula checkpoint near the border with the Russian Federation. Footage from the parking lot on October 1 is published by Izvestia.

The footage shows that there are many cars in the parking lot. Evacuation notices have already been pasted on some of them. You can also see the tire tracks of a car that has already been evacuated.

Presumably, the vehicles have been in the parking lot for a long time: many of them have rusted tires, and the headlights have been removed from one Audi passenger car.

"Your vehicle is parked in the green zone next to the Koidula border station, which violates the requirements of the Law on Road Traffic. <...> The Estonian Department of Transport has the right to move vehicles," one of the notices says, it is written in Russian.

The document also states that if the owner does not pick up the car from the parking lot at the checkpoint, it will be evacuated to a secure parking lot. All related costs must be paid by the vehicle owner himself: €152 for the tow truck and €40 for every day the car is in a paid parking lot.

Earlier that day, it was reported that the Estonian Department of Transport, together with the Svenai OY company, is starting the evacuation and sale of cars left for more than 72 hours in the parking lot at the Koidula checkpoint near the border with the Russian Federation. According to the Rus portal.Postimees.ee The vehicles will be moved to a secure paid parking lot located 44 km from the checkpoint. If the owners pick up their vehicles, they will be required to pay for evacuation and storage costs. In the event that the owners do not show up, the vehicles will be put up for auction.
