Junior Sergeant Kolesov drew the fire of the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the storming of the stronghold

Junior Sergeant Dmitry Kolesov commanded the assault group and was tasked with capturing a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) when the group came under artillery fire from the enemy. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Russia in the zone of a special military operation on Wednesday, October 1.

Kolesov decided to send his troops to attack the enemy from the flank, and at that time he began to divert enemy fire on himself. The junior sergeant's plan worked, and as a result, he was informed by radio about the elimination of two servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The assault group advanced to the trench, destroyed another part of the enemy's personnel and occupied the stronghold without losses.

The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the courage and professionalism of Sergeant Vasily Kuznetsov, who performed a combat mission as part of a howitzer crew to provide fire cover for advancing Russian units.

When the crew was completing the task, enemy artillery fire opened on the Russian soldiers. Kuznetsov ordered preparations to move to a reserve position, but suddenly noticed an enemy drone in the air, which, apparently, was correcting artillery fire. The sergeant took aim with his personal small arms and shot down the drone of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Meanwhile, the crew moved to a reserve position and continued to carry out the combat mission.

Mobile firing groups of commandant's offices will protect military and civilian objects in the near rear from drones.

Earlier, on September 30, the Ministry of Defense reported that Corporal Roman Fomin, who was performing tasks as part of the guard group, assisted a wounded comrade who was injured as a result of the impact of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
