The media reported on the detention of the leader of the Christian Social Union of Moldova, Calin

Gabriel Kaelin, a journalist and leader of the Christian Social Union of Moldova party, was detained, Sputnik Moldova reported on September 30.

According to media reports, blogger Vitaly Florya, who is a member of the party, was also detained. Prior to that, the representatives of the union were searched.

On the same day, Moldovan police reported that employees of the Department for the Investigation of Economic Crimes conducted a search in a criminal case initiated for "illegal financing of political parties in elections and money laundering." It is not specified who exactly was searched.

"We will return with details after the completion of the procedural actions," the Moldovan police announced on Facebook (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
