As part of the "Lezginka Festival" held in honor of the Day of Tourism in Makhachkala, a record of the Russian Federation for the mass, simultaneous performance of this dance was set. This was announced on September 27 by the acting mayor of the city, Dzhambulat Salavov.

"This year, a new record was set in Russia for the most massive performance of Lezginka — 454 dancing couples swirled in the dance," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.

This achievement was established within the framework of a project conducted by the city administration, the events of which become part of many public holidays in the region. The record, as Salavov added, was recorded by representatives of the Russian Book of Records.

On the same day, the Arabic newspaper Al Khaleej reported on the setting of a record by Egyptian Ashraf Mohamed, who, as the world champion in powerlifting, was able to move a 700-ton vessel using his teeth. This action, as specified in the publication, was aimed at the development of tourism in the area — in Hurghada.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
