The survey showed an increase in German residents' distrust of Merz by 65%
The confidence rating of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz among the country's population continues to decline. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on September 27.
It is clarified that the majority of respondents, who made up 65%, expressed dissatisfaction with Merz's activities, while only 23% of respondents were satisfied with his work. This shows a significant increase in discontent compared to the beginning of June, when only 45% of the survey participants had a negative attitude towards his activities.
The level of support for Merz dropped from 36% to 23% in four months, while 12% found it difficult to answer. The survey was conducted on September 25-26 with the participation of 1003 people.
According to the publication, the Christian Democratic and Christian Social Union (CDU/CSU) bloc lost to Alternative for Germany (AfD, 26%) with 25% of the vote in the party ratings. The Social Democrats (SPD) scored 15%, the Greens - 12%, the Left Party — 11%. The remaining parties did not overcome the 5% threshold. 1,200 German citizens participated in this survey, conducted on September 22-26.
A survey conducted by the INSA sociological Institute on August 21 showed that more than 50% of German residents do not believe in the resumption of economic growth under the current government led by Friedrich Merz. It was clarified that only 11% of Germans believe that their financial situation will improve under the new government.
