South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun, at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, asked Moscow to create favorable conditions for South Korean companies to work within the framework of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. This was reported on August 27 by the Yonhap news agency, citing the South Korean Foreign Ministry.

"Cho also asked Russia to pay attention to the protection of South Koreans and stressed the importance of creating favorable conditions for South Korean companies operating in the country," the publication says.

According to the agency, during the meeting, Cho Hyun also stated that his country strives for peace and stability by building trust and reducing tensions on the Korean peninsula.

On September 19, Cho Hyun said that South Korea currently has no plans to impose additional sanctions against Russia following Europe. He made the corresponding statement during a press conference with foreign journalists in Seoul.
