Putin noted the high growth rates of Tatarstan's economy
Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the elected heads of regions of the Russian Federation on September 26 that Tatarstan demonstrates high economic growth rates and is an example for other regions of the country in the development of the social sphere.
"For many years, the republic has been demonstrating very good growth rates of the regional gross domestic product and the pace of economic development. It serves as an example for many subjects of the Federation in the development of the social sphere," Putin said.
Earlier, on September 15, the head of the republic, Rustam Minnikhanov, won the election with 88.09% of the vote. Hafiz Mirgalimov (KPRF) took second place with 4.97% of the vote, Ruslan Yusupov (LDPR) came in third with 4.20% of the vote, and Vitaly Smirnov (Russian Pensioners' Party for Social Justice) came in fourth with 1.90% of the vote.
