European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen ignores EU standards on transparency of politicians before citizens. On September 26, German politician Elena Fritz told Izvestia about this.

"This is how the current EU leadership positions itself — as a new aristocracy that preaches transparency, but practices non-transparency, requires control, but gets rid of it itself. A union acting in this way not only loses the trust of its citizens. He is also losing his legitimacy," she said.

Fritz also recalled the situation with von der Leyen's deleted secret correspondence with French President Emmanuel Macron. According to her, there are clear rules for employees of EU institutions, including the mandatory use of encrypted communication channels. Violations of these rules are punishable by disciplinary action, but such measures are not applied to management.

"When the chairman of the commission uses personal messengers and the messages disappear, there are no consequences. This clearly shows that transparency is not a general principle in Brussels, but a matter of hierarchy," the politician stressed.

In addition, Fritz also warned that bypassing secure systems creates security risks and turns the European Union into a new aristocracy that puts itself above the rules that are binding on others.

On the eve of the European Parliament deputy from Hungary, Kinga Gal, reported that a scandal broke out around von der Leyen because of her secret SMS correspondence with Macron. She noted that these messages had disappeared. Gal stressed that the incident once again confirms the non-transparency of the EC's activities.

On September 11, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban demanded von der Leyen leave his post amid harsh political statements. In February, the newspaper Politico stated that the EU countries were "fed up" with the attempts of the head of the European Commission to lead the foreign policy of the association.
