- The Russian President sent greetings to the participants of the III International Buddhist Forum
President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin welcomed the participants, organizers and guests of the III International Buddhist Forum, which is taking place in Elista. The appeal is posted on the Kremlin's website.
In his greeting, the Head of state emphasized the importance of Kalmykia as one of the largest centers of Buddhism in Europe and noted the important role of the Russian Buddhist community in preserving spiritual heritage, developing dialogue and educational activities.
"Today, the Buddhist community of Russia carefully preserves the priceless spiritual heritage of its ancestors, their distinctive art and customs, directs its efforts to harmonize interreligious and interethnic dialogue, strengthen family values, educate young people, restore ancient and build new monasteries, and implement educational and educational projects. And, I am convinced, I am ready to share this rich experience with the forum participants and guests from abroad," Vladimir Putin said in his address.
The President expressed confidence that the forum would discuss key civilizational, philosophical and humanitarian issues of our time, as well as outline new steps to develop Buddhist culture and strengthen international cooperation.
