The Mayor of Kazan discussed the challenges of the future with the participants of the youth BRICS

The first BRICS Youth Festival, organized on the initiative of Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, is coming to an end in Kazan. As part of the event, a meeting of festival participants with the mayor was held at the city Hall on Friday, September 26.

The event took place in the same hall where the world's leading leaders met during the BRICS summit a year ago. His main topic was the discussion of,
what the world will be like in 25 years, and what the BRICS youth can do to make it a better place.

"The leaders of the countries you came from came here, to the heart of Kazan, to make momentous decisions for the whole world. Today, you, the young representatives of the BRICS countries, who will shape the future of our peoples and develop international cooperation, are taking over the baton of this high mission and responsibility," Ilsur Metshin emphasized.

During the discussion, the teenagers came to the conclusion that in the future, a special role will be played by combining economic and technological growth with conservation of nature, as well as sustainable development and equal access to the most important services for all. This opinion of the youth was shared by the mayor of Kazan.

"It is important to live in a world where all countries and peoples exist in harmony and harmony. This is called multipolarity. We can learn from each other, exchange ideas and make our world a better place," he said.

The first BRICS Youth Festival started on September 20. More than 150 young people from more than a dozen countries have arrived in Kazan to participate in Olympiads, competitions and round tables. The individual stages allowed us to evaluate the participants' knowledge in mathematics, physics and programming. Team assignments and project work blocks helped us think in terms of specific urban tasks: how to reduce energy consumption in school buildings, how to build an air quality monitoring system in a neighborhood, and what digital services are needed to involve young people in volunteer initiatives.
