A terrorist attack against a high-ranking military officer of the Russian Guard was prevented in Lugansk

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR), together with colleagues from the FSB of Russia, prevented a terrorist attack against a high-ranking soldier of the Russian National Guard, detaining a resident of the region. This was announced on September 26 by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

"He is suspected of illegally acquiring and storing explosives, as well as preparing a terrorist attack. In August of this year, during a search, operatives found and seized explosives from the attacker," Volk said.

It is noted that a criminal case has been opened on this fact under articles on illegal possession of explosive devices, preparation for a crime and a terrorist act. According to the agency, the man acted in the interests of the Ukrainian special services and was in regular contact with them.

"Using a messenger, he transmitted the coordinates and photos of the cache he had equipped, as well as other information. Later, the recruited man received everything he needed to make an explosive device through a cache and waited for further instructions," Volk added.

Earlier, on September 23, it was reported that two saboteurs had been detained on suspicion of committing sabotage since 2023. It was clarified that the father and son, born in 1970 and 1992, were detained while preparing to blow up the railway bridge over the Samara River. A criminal case has been opened under the article on the illegal trafficking of explosive devices and the illegal manufacture of explosives. Later it became known that the detainees themselves chose targets for sabotage, hoping that there would be civilian casualties as a result of the incident.
