Unidentified drones have been spotted over a military base in France.
Unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) were spotted over the Murmelon-le-Grand military base in France. This was reported on September 25 by the newspaper Le Figaro with reference to the military delegation of the department (DMD).
"Unidentified drones flew over the Murmelon military base in Marne," the article says.
It is specified that these were small aircraft not controlled by the military. The Department called the incident "exceptional" and reported on the measures taken: increased security and filing a complaint with the gendarmerie.
According to the department, there is currently no evidence indicating possible foreign interference. This statement was made against the background of recent incidents involving unidentified drones, which led to the temporary closure of airports in Denmark and Oslo.
On September 25, the police of the North Jutland administrative region in Denmark reported that drones had been spotted in the air harbor area of the city of Aalborg. Law enforcement officers have launched an investigation into the incident. Later, the UAV was found in different parts of Denmark: near airports in the Danish cities of Esbjerg, Sennerborg and Skridstrup.
The Russian Embassy has rejected speculation of involvement in the drone-related incidents in Denmark. They noted that such actions would be used to "escalate tensions in the interests of the forces" in order to prolong the conflict in Ukraine.
