Trying to survive on the mystical Konzhakovsky Kamen mountain in the Sverdlovsk region, 48-year-old Yekaterinburg resident Fedor Medvedev drank from the river and ate mushrooms and berries. He told Izvestia about this on September 25.

"I was eating berries, some kind of green herbs. <...> I made a frying pan out of stone, fried mushrooms," the man said.

During the day, Fyodor tried to get out on the road, and by evening he was looking for a place to sleep and build a fire. He only had a lighter and a knife with him. On the first night, wolves tried to attack the man, from which he had to fight off with burning logs.

"There was also a bear. We saw each other, maybe seven or ten meters away. He came to the river to drink, I was on the other side. He got drunk and left. I just sat there, looked at him and didn't even understand what was going to happen," explained the Yekaterinburg resident.

Fyodor admitted that throughout the week he had not seen a single mark that would indicate that there might be people nearby. The man is convinced that he found the right path only through prayers — on September 24, he managed to get out onto the road, where rescuers picked him up an hour later.

"There is no way to panic. You should immediately assess the situation soberly if you get lost. And you don't have to move anywhere, because if they know about you, they'll be looking for you. It's better to stay put and give some signs. Build a fire, make creases on the branches," Medvedev advised.

The man disappeared in the forest on September 18 — he went to collect cones with a group and got lost in the forest. Specialists of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation and volunteers searched for Yekaterinburg for several days, combing all the surroundings.
