Seven Buddhist monks died in Sri Lanka on a cable car
Seven Buddhist monks were killed and several were injured in an accident on a cable car. This was reported on September 25 by the British newspaper Daily Mirror.
"The death toll from a railway trolley accident at the Nayana Monastery in Pansiyagama, Melsiripura, has risen to seven Buddhist monks. <...> The accident occurred yesterday at about 21:00, when 13 monks were returning to the monastery after religious rituals at the sacred site. Two monks escaped with minor injuries by jumping out of the trolley, while four others remain in hospital with serious injuries," the newspaper reports.
