The Italian Defense Ministry has redirected a Navy ship to help a humanitarian convoy in the Gaza Strip

Italy has redirected one of the ships of its Naval Forces (Navy) to provide possible assistance in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on Wednesday, September 24, by the Reuters news agency, citing the words of Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto.

The agency pointed out that Crosetto strongly condemned last night's attack on an international flotilla that was trying to deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza.

"In his statement, Crosetto also said that he had redirected an Italian warship towards the flotilla in order to possibly provide assistance," the media said.

Al Jazeera TV channel previously reported that the Global Sumud humanitarian flotilla, heading to the Gaza Strip, was attacked by drones. The organizers indicated that they had observed drone attacks from their ships off the coast of Greece from Tuesday evening, September 23, to early Wednesday morning.

"Many drones, unidentified objects fell, communication was disrupted, and explosions were heard from several boats," the Global Sumud flotilla said in a statement, without specifying if there were any casualties.

Russian Ambassador to Egypt Georgy Borisenko told Izvestia on September 18 that Israel had been preventing Russian humanitarian aid supplies to the Gaza Strip from Egypt for several months. The cargoes are in storage, and some perishable products are becoming unusable, the diplomat noted.

On September 24, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the complete destruction of medical infrastructure in Gaza, where about 150 children have already died of starvation. The Turkish leader said there could be no reasonable justification for such brutality in 2025. According to him, such a "shameful picture" has been observed in Gaza for the past 23 months.
