According to him, the UN is unable to resolve global conflicts and does not ask him for help in this. Trump also accused the organization of an inflated budget and cost overruns. He said that he once offered to renovate the headquarters in New York for $ 500 million, but was refused, and in the end this project cost the UN almost $ 4 billion.

- At one point, Trump sarcastically noted that all he received from the UN was only "an escalator and a teleprompter that were not working properly." Before speaking at the General Assembly, a curious incident really happened to the US president. Upon entering the headquarters, he wanted to go upstairs with his wife Melania Trump, but as soon as the couple got on the escalator, he stopped. As a result, they had to climb on foot. Trump noted that if the first lady of the United States had not been in great shape, she would have fallen.

- After his speech at the rostrum of the UN General Assembly, Trump held a meeting with President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. The day before, he flew to New York and, before talks with the head of the White House, managed to meet with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva and Trump's special representative Keith Kellogg.

- Zelensky came to the talks with Trump in an all-black suit without a tie. He wore the same outfit during an August visit to the White House, receiving positive feedback from the US president at the time.

- At the meeting with Zelensky, Trump answered several questions from journalists. He noted that he does not intend to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine with European allies yet. He hoped that such an opportunity would come later. At the same time, Trump pointed out that Russia has great military power, which is why many assumed that the conflict in Ukraine would end quickly.
