On September 23, the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted in the first reading a bill obliging universities to allocate separate rooms in dormitories for students' families during a plenary session, which was broadcast on the Duma TV website.

It is noted that the initiative is intended for those students of educational institutions who are married or who have children. If the law is passed, student families will receive a priority right to shared housing, even if the spouses study at different universities.

As part of the bill, higher education institutions should provide students with the opportunity for family accommodation and publish the number of such places in the public domain, adds "Газета.Ru ".

On April 24, it was reported that students who are married or have children will be given dorm rooms as a matter of priority. The initiative was introduced by the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy, headed by the chairman of the committee, Artyom Metelev.
