Trump pointed to the unprecedented scale of migration to Europe
European countries are facing problems due to uncontrolled immigration. This was announced on September 23 by US President Donald Trump at the opening of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
"Your countries are simply being destroyed. Europe has huge problems. Illegal migrants are invading Europe. This has never happened before on such a scale," the American leader said.
According to him, the "failed experiment with open borders" must be stopped immediately, as European countries "will simply go to hell" otherwise.
Trump noted that as soon as the United States began to detain and deport all illegal immigrants from the country, they stopped coming. This is a humanitarian act for all participants in the process, the American leader added.
Earlier, on September 21, Elena Fritz, a member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, noted in an interview with Izvestia that migration and other issues important to citizens had become secondary to Europe amid the geopolitical conflict with Russia. According to her, the European Union is turning from an economic union that provided well-being into a union of war.
