The financier spoke about the reasons for the collection of coins by the Bank of Russia from citizens

The Coin Week campaign is aimed at returning coins held by people to the economy, which will save money on issuing new coins and has nothing to do with plans to introduce a digital ruble. Oleg Skapenker, Associate Professor of the Department of Global Financial Markets and Fintech at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, told the Prime news agency on September 23.

From August 22 to September 4, a "Coin Week" was launched in Russia, designed to solve the problem of accumulation of small change among the population. Many Russians prefer not to use coins, which leads to their shortage in circulation. As part of the promotion, you can exchange the accumulated change for paper money or deposit it into an account at participating banks and stores.
