- The property of the ex-mayor of Vladivostok for 79 billion rubles was turned into income of the Russian Federation
The Tverskoy Court of Moscow turned into state revenue a group of seaside companies Vostokcement and Renaissance worth 79 billion rubles, which belong to the relatives of Igor Pushkarev, the ex-mayor of Vladivostok, who was convicted of corruption and resigned. This was announced on September 22 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
"The man suffered his punishment in the framework of criminal proceedings, civil proceedings. Pushkarev received an impressive term, but at the same time managed to register his assets with relatives and close people," the prosecutor emphasized in court.
According to him, the ex-mayor of Vladivostok initially intended to develop the city's road infrastructure, but began to abuse his authority. According to the investigation, he restricted competition in the road sector, as a result of which the companies under his control began to set prices that were too high compared to the average market prices.
The defendants in the lawsuit were the parents of the former mayor, Sergei and Tatiana Pushkareva, his siblings Vladimir and Andrey, his son Alexey, his wife Natalia, trusted representatives Alexey Sysoev, Viktor Ivanov, as well as the former head of the Directorate for the Construction of Vladivostok City District Facilities, Evgeny Deshchenko. The former mayor himself is not listed in the list of defendants.
In 2019, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow sentenced Pushkarev to 15 years in a penal colony for corruption crimes. The court also imposed a fine of 500 million rubles on the former mayor.
According to investigators, in the period from 2008 to 2015, Pushkarev received bribes, the total amount of which amounted to 75 million rubles. For the sake of this money, the official created obstacles for commercial organizations in order to prevent them from participating in municipal competitions in the field of road construction. In addition, close relatives of the mayor received dividends in the amount of 471.7 million rubles from the Vostokcement group of companies.
On September 12 of this year, the Prosecutor General's Office announced its intention to take the assets of the family of the ex-mayor of Vladivostok in favor of the state.
