Singer and poet Mikhail Vorobyov, known by his stage name Mikhail Krug, has never used a mat in his work everywhere. This was announced to Izvestia on September 22 by poet and composer, chanson performer Sergey Sever.

"He was a very moderate, calm, censorious man. He never used mat everywhere in his works. Only if it's not a mat, but literary images, as I understand it, what all creative people actually do," he explained.

Sever noted that the argot language is often present in the works of the so—called "narodniks" - and how appropriate this is, in his opinion, should be judged by the people.

"Let's maybe ban Stenka Razin, "Because of the island on Strezhen." Or "Burlatskaya song", or "Omulevoy barrel". Do you remember, "tramp, cursing fate..."? Or [the writer Vasily] Shukshin, or [the bard Vladimir] Vysotsky, or [singer] Arkady Severny," the performer was surprised.

Earlier, the media reported that Olga Germanova, a member of the State Duma Committee on Culture, called for restrictions on the Circle's compositions, which, in her opinion, do not correspond to traditional values and contain profanity. Later, commenting on her statement, the deputy clarified that there was no question of any ban on the artist's songs.

In turn, actor Nikita Vysotsky said that there is nothing in Krug's work that could undermine public morality.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
