A military expert spoke about homemade mines in the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Homemade plastic mines printed on a 3D printer are in high demand among the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Perhaps this is due to supply problems from NATO countries. Military expert Alexei Leonkov made this assumption on Monday, September 22.
"But there were entire factories in Ukraine that were engaged in the fact that, while disposing of rockets, rocket fuel was extracted from the first stages. It's probably what goes into anti—tank and anti-personnel mines," he admitted in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The specialist explained that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have enough substances to create homemade mines, only the shells are missing — they are made on a 3D printer.
"The danger of such mines is that they are very difficult to detect: the only metal part is the fuse itself. And only modern mine detectors can find such a mine. In addition, they are often untraceable," the military expert concluded.
Earlier, a former soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a volunteer of the Maxim Krivonos battalion with the call sign Prometheus, said that Ukrainian formations massively use improvised explosive devices, including mines printed on a 3D printer, RT reports.
According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces hide mines in a variety of ways. So, he mentioned the case of the discovery by the soldiers of the battalion of a mine, artfully disguised as a stone, writes Life.Ru .
The day before, it became known that the Ukrainian units, during their retreat from the Kursk region, did not have time to take out some of the ammunition transferred to the Armed Forces by NATO countries, according to the website. kp.ru .
It is noted that the rapid retreat of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the loss of logistical capabilities did not allow the militants to take out ammunition, IA Regnum reports.
Earlier, on September 19, the commander of an assault detachment with the call sign Bur said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants had abandoned equipment and weapons while retreating from the Serebryansk forestry in the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). It was clarified that as a result of active hostilities, the enemy was completely knocked out by the military units of the Zapad group of forces.
