Meteorologists reported typhoon Ragasa approaching Vietnam
Super Typhoon Ragasa will bring strong gale force winds to Vietnam, which will be accompanied by heavy rains. This was announced on September 22 on the website of the National Center for Hydrometeorological Forecasting (NCHMF).
Earlier, the typhoon was located about 120 km north of the Philippine island of Luzon and continued to move in a northwesterly direction at a speed of 20-25 km/h.
According to the forecast, the typhoon will affect the Chinese provinces of Guangdong and Hainan, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, as well as the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, after which the disaster will move to the northern regions of Vietnam.
It is noted that later the Ragasa will continue moving along the coast of the central part of the country from Thanh Hoa province to Thanh Thien Hue, accompanied by strong gale force winds and heavy rains.
Earlier, on September 8, the Xinhua news agency reported that 41,000 people were evacuated in the Chinese province of Guangdong due to typhoon Tapa. It was clarified that in 182 schools and kindergartens in the city of Taishan, classes for about 120 thousand students were suspended. The maximum wind strength in the epicenter of the typhoon was 30 m/s.
