Ukrainian Armed Forces drones have attacked Foros in Crimea. What is known by this hour

On the evening of September 21, the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced an unmanned strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Foros school and sanatorium in the village of the same name on the southern shore of the peninsula, resulting in reports of deaths and injuries. What is known about the attack on the Foros sanatorium

Initially, after the strike, the Russian Defense Ministry reported two dead, later their number increased to three. In addition, 15 people received various injuries.

It is noted that during the attack, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) equipped with high-explosive warheads. Aksyonov expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and noted that the necessary assistance and support would be provided to the victims.

After the impact, a fire started on the territory of the sanatorium, which was soon extinguished. As specified in the main directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation in the region, 34 people and 12 pieces of equipment were involved in fighting the fire. At the same time, as a result of the elimination of the fire, one person was also injured.

Consequences of the attack on the school

According to Oleg Kryuchkov, adviser to the head of Crimea, one person, a security guard of the educational institution, was injured as a result of a drone attack on the school building. The assembly hall was also completely destroyed, and the library was severely damaged. The students were transferred to distance learning.

"All services are in place, and all necessary assistance is being provided to the victims. Tomorrow, the Foros school will be transferred to distance learning," said Yanina Pavlenko, head of the Yalta local administration.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stressed in a statement that it is the financing of arms supplies to Ukraine that is the source of the spread of terrorism in Europe.
