Wrestlers from Russia won 11 medals at the World Championships

Russian wrestlers have won 11 medals at the World Championships, including one gold, four silver and six bronze. This became known on September 21.

It is noted that the gold of the Russian national team was brought by the freestyle wrestling athlete Zaur Uguyev in the weight up to 61 kg. Silver was won by freestyle wrestlers Amanul Gadzhimagomedov (in the weight category up to 92 kg), Ekaterina Vorobyeva (up to 55 kg), Alina Kasabieva (up to 65 kg). Greco-Roman wrestling athlete Artur Sargsyan also won silver.

"The bronze medals were won by wrestlers Zaurbek Sidakov (up to 74 kg), Elizaveta Smirnova (up to 50 kg), Olga Khoroshavtseva (up to 57 kg), Amina Tandelova (up to 62 kg), Greco-Roman wrestlers Daniyal Agaev (up to 67 kg) and Milad Alirzaev (up to 87 kg)," said "Sport-Express".

Earlier, on August 24, Russian Greco-Roman wrestler Ali Ilyasov won a gold medal at the U-20 World Championship. Ilyasov defeated Turkish wrestler Kemal Bakir in the final match of the weight category up to 130 kg. In the category up to 87 kg, Russian Abdurakhman Abdulkadyrov won the silver medal, losing in the final to Georgian Luka Kochalidze.
